Bandwidth is the volume of data exchange allowed between the server and website visitors in a given month.
Think of bandwidth as the number of times, a website can be visited in a given month. If the home page of your website is 200 KB in size and your monthly bandwidth is 1 MB (=1024 KB), the home page of your website can be visited 5 (=1024/200) times in a month; the website shows an error of Bandwidth exceeded post these number of visits.
Emails are also included in bandwidth computation. Normal text emails require a minute part of the bandwidth but in case of promotional emails (which might include images), each email consumes a considerable amount of the bandwidth.
